Alex Johnson died on Monday morning of a complication of ailments largely due to a kick from a horse. He was 36 years of age and leaves a wife. His funeral was from the first Baptist Church by Elder Foster on Tuesday afternoon. - kbz

Alex Johnson died at his late residence on north Walnut street at 5 o'clock Monday morning of catarrh of the stomach. The deceased was born in this city, March 29, 1859 and was 28 years old at the time of his death. In 1885 he was married to Lizzie Hunt who survives him. He united with the Salvation Army December 11, 1886, under Captain Lawrence. He was a member of the Knights of Labor and the I.O.G.T. The time for the funeral has been fixed at 2 o'clock Tuesday from the Missionary Baptist church, Rev. J.F. Foster officiating. The Fire Company, the Knights of Labor and Good Templar's are requested to attend. The burial will take place at Oak Hill.- thanks to Kim H
